Giant duplo blocks1/1/2024 ![]() Duplo is derived from the Latin word for "duplex", meaning double. In 1968, second generation owner Godtfred Kirk Christiansen provided the idea of hollowing out the studs on the Duplo bricks to make them compatible with the system. The company initially struggled to find a scale that would fit with the existing Lego System of Play, exploring 3:1 and 4:1 scales, but eventually settled on a 2:1 scale. Duplo products are manufactured in Nyíregyháza, Hungary.īefore its introduction in 1969, The Lego Group investigated ways to produce safe, age-appropriate Lego bricks that were larger in size than traditional bricks in order to target young children aged one-and-a-half years and above. Ring keypad charging cable1/1/2024 ![]() ![]() The motion sensor allows the keypad buttons to light up every time it detects motion or when a button is pressed in the dark. The Battery-Saver disables the Ring Keypad motion sensor! Here we’ll review how to enable the Battery-Saver and what features we’re giving up on in order to boost the battery life. The Power-Saver mode only compromises a few aspects, which increase the battery life by several months, based on how old your keypad is. ![]() Tip: It’s better to charge our keypads before we go out on a long trip for peace of mind. The battery light will be blinking in green while charging and later turn solid green when the battery is full. The charging takes from 3 to 5 hours, based on how long the battery is. When the yellow battery indication appears, plug the Ring Keypad into the power! It might happen while you’re out on a vacation! When the red light comes up, it would be hours before the device turns off. Users need to plug their Ring Keypads into the power once every few months.Īs we’ve discussed above, when the yellow light appears, it means that the battery is low and this is the prime indication that the device has to be charged. Without the power-saving mode, the approximate lasting time would land somewhere between 7-8 months, depending on how the device is being used.įrequent usage leads to shorter battery life and when the keypad is not used so frequently, the battery is expected to last longer. That happens after years of usage.Ī good Ring Keypad battery lasts up to 12 months in a power-saving mode! Such occasions could be when the battery of your keypad is dying, therefore can’t sustain the device running for a long time. There are occasions in which you’ll need to plug in your Ring Alarm Keypad to power in order to keep your home secure. Tip: Enabling Power Saver increases the battery life by a few months! Nancy close yale child study center12/31/2023 ![]() ![]() Nancy Close, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Yale Child Study Center Associate Director of the Yale Program in Early Childhood Education Lecturer in Psychology and the Clinical Director of the MOMS Partnership® and the Yale Parent and Family Development Program. But mostly when it comes to developmentally appropriate regression, I think it is short lived.” “Children are so motivated to move forward in development, so if that motivation is not there then I would be worried. If it seems to be lasting longer than you think it should, around two to three weeks, Close recommends reaching out to your child’s healthcare provider. Usually, if you can pinpoint what might be going on and provide children with support, they will be able to work through it. Some regressions can last for a few weeks, but it varies from child to child. Next time maybe you can ask for a turn and get your teacher to help you.” For example: “You were so mad your friend did not give you the toy and then you pushed her. Help them find adaptive and age-appropriate ways of expressing some of those more difficult feelings.” Sit with them, help soothe and calm them and reflect on what they are feeling. “Learning that they’re not the boss of the world is a big thing for toddlers! It causes a lot of tantrums,” says Close. It’s important to be reassuring, but also to have expectations and to set limits. Sometimes your child may need to be regressed for a while. By observing your child while they play and playing with them, you can learn a lot about what is going on with your child. ![]() Socially and emotionally, it gives them a way to express some things they’re struggling with that they don’t necessarily have the words for,” says Close. “Imaginative play and symbolic play are vehicles which children use to develop their language, thinking and ideas about the world. Play can also be a helpful tool for working through difficult feelings. Sometimes you feel like you need my help.” ![]() Close suggests trying the following: “You are learning to do so many big boy things. Try to show them that you notice the regressive Behaviour without shaming them. Let them know that they are safe and supported. How can parents help support their children through regressions? Usually parents get to know your child’s patterns of moving forward and then needing to move backward a little bit.” Regression is also very common when children are adjusting to new situations, like becoming an older sibling or going to pre-school for the first time. “I think children vary in terms of what causes them to regress and the regressive patterns they seem to exhibit. “I see some children who may regress right before they’re about to make a big leap forward, or they regress right after they’ve made a leap forward,” says Close. In fact, it is to be expected and it’s very helpful to further development – think of it as your child’s way of preparing themselves for taking on more responsibility. A baby may be a bit clingier, need to feed more, be a bit whinier or cry more often than usual. If there is regression in an infant it might not necessarily be as evident. You will typically see regressive behaviours in toddlers and preschoolers, but it can really happen at any age – even with infants and older children. “All of a sudden, your child cannot do what they could do before,” explains Close. If a child has achieved something like getting dressed by herself, you may see a loss of some of those skills. You may see more temper tantrums, difficulty with sleeping or eating or reverting to more immature ways of talking. Regression can vary, but in general, it is acting in a younger or needier way. “So, when those stumbling blocks come along the progressive path of development, it can feel really overwhelming and cause some kind of regression in children,” explains Close. For example, a baby learning to walk may be delighted by the new skill she has mastered, but may also realize that mom and dad are now further away or that she could fall down. However, along with the excitement of being able to do new things comes stress. There is a natural energy in children to explore, manipulate and master their world.” ![]() “Most children have a very strong urge to move forward in their development (progression). “I like to pair regression with the idea of progression,” says Close. We spoke to Nancy Close, PhD, an Assistant Professor at the Child Study Center at the Yale School of Medicine and Associate Director of the Yale Program in Early Childhood Education, about what causes regression to happen and how you can help your child through it. Regression is common in growing children – especially toddlers. If you have noticed that your child has taken a giant leap forward (like finally mastering toilet training!) only to then take a step back (refusing to use the toilet!), you are not alone. ![]()

The existing frame should not have it’s installation compromised in any way. The existing frame section must be in good shape to make sure that the new window can be properly fitted and installed into the opening. One critical element for block frame replacement is the condition of the existing wood jambs and sill. Older homes including Victorians, Bungalows, and wood windows with masonry surrounds are usually candidates for block frame window replacement. The normal frame thickness on a insert window for a block frame is a jamb depth of 3 1/4″. Marvin New Construction or Nail On Window Photo Taken During InstallationĪ Block Frame window replacement is normally where the original wood perimeter frame is left in place and a new window comprised of either new jambliners and sashes or a complete frame unit with a jamb are installed. Most window and door manufacturers offer a solution to answer all type of installation but some of the higher end products (wood clad windows) cannot be installed using the Zbar or replacement flange method due to the waterproofing and jamb details for wood windows. Not all types of replacement window installations will fit every project. While the previously listed types of replacements all yield the result of a new window, there are some distinct differences that are important for owner’s to understand. These include Block Frame, Z Bar(or Replacement Flange), and New Construction (or Nail on Flange). There are a couple of window replacement methods common to the industry. I have tried to summarize the different methods for replacing a window along with common terminology. In certain situations there maybe more than one option available. When our estimators or installers look at a project, we are able to tell a customer the best window replacement method or methods based on their situation. Which Window Replacement is Right For My Project? It Depends. ![]()

I’ve been having odd problems with my mac today and I think it’s I do not have access to the computer having the issue. I have checked it for another folder, and the result is the same.Note: This is not my computer. So it is taking up twice as much space on the disk. Is OneDrive keeping duplicate copies of the same folder in both Workspace and Macintosh volumes? Or is this how the used space is calculated, considering the local OneDrive files/folders to be tagged with both volumes? But the surprising thing is that the available space in the container (shared between the volumes) is decreased by 2.9 GB. Now, after this, the Workspace volume shows an increase of 1.45 GB in used space, and the Macintosh volume too shows an increase of 1.45 GB in used space. I opted to keep a folder available on the device. I tried to check this and observed something very surprising. Now when I opt for the "Always keep on This Device" option for a file or folder in my OneDrive, where (the original version) will it get stored? In the "Workspace" volume or in the Macintosh HD volume? When I searched for the original folder, it was found in the "users" directory in the Macintosh HD volume. Now the OneDrive folder in the "Workspace" volume shows a sign indicating it is an alias. I have created a volume "Workspace" for keeping my work-related files and chose that "Workspace" volume for my OneDrive folder.
